Juvenile rock iguana learning behavior

Observation on learning behavior of 6 months old juvenile rock iguana baby Gamma.

So, he lives in the dining/kitchen area and he is the first one to wake up in the morning and goes to bask and watches me work in the kitchen.

I prepare all iguana food first thing in the morning, so he watches me. I approach his cage and show him the food dish full of yummy salad and bits of bright nasturtium flowers, slowly put it inside the cage.

He knows what that is!

Today was the first time Gamma actually went straight to the food dish as soon as I sat it down in his cage!

He really loves to eat and his food is so precious to him.

Gamma is the only baby that does this at this young age. Very intelligent boy and fast learner. He will be a very successful lizard and a great pet!
